European motorcycle-maker KTM, introduced their first ever car with the X-Bow. KTM basically transferred its principles from two wheels to four, with a track-biased car that can be driven on the street. But KTM developers have kept the weight of the vehicle extremely light by removing everything that is not needed, including body panels, doors and a windshield. Parts of the suspension are intentionally visible. Built on a carbon-fibre chassis, a 'crash box' in the front nose absorbs collision energy, while roll bars are integrated into the structure, which is all good considering there are no airbags. An options kit is available on request which includes having additional struts mounted at designated points. The Audi-sourced 4-cylinder FSI turbo engine is made of aluminium and mated to a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed DSG automanual transmission. Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, and four-point seat-belts round out the standard package. There are no electronic driving aids, no power steering and no roof, although a cloth tarpaulin is available to cover the interior when not in use.
